Surf Sparkling Ocean - 180 loads Review

We bought this big box of detergent, trying to save some money. The product cleans clothes just fine, but my major problem with it was that the detergent consistently did not dissolve properly in the wash. I tried altering how much I put in vs the water level used, but nothing helped. 8 times out of 10 I would pull out my laundry to find detergent residue on my "clean" clothes and would have to run the load again through a rinse cycle losing time and money. What a waste!

I had to discontinue using this detergent! It is mild, but it's cleaning effectiveness is FAR less than "regular" detergent.After washing, the clothing still felt as if it needed washing.I ended up buying another name brand detergent that was free of dyes or perfumes which cleaned a lot better.This product may be adequate for everyday washing of sheets, towels, etc, but I would use a stronger detergent for the baby food stains and soils.

Kirkland Signature 2x Ultra Laundry Detergant 170 Oz., 110 Loads Review

We've tended to use Tide as our laundry detergent. Consumer Reports says it's one of the best and we agree. It's been an excellent detergent, without question. However, we belong to one of those warehouse store organizations and their competing product is Kirkland Signature Ultra Laundry Detergent. It's much cheaper than Tide, and that provides an incentive to try it. In addition, one month they gave us an extra two-dollars-off coupon and that proved to be just too much to resist. We tried it, we liked it, we've been using it ever since.

Detergents would be very hard for an individual to judge. There are no adequate controls on any home testing experiment. It would probably be best to look at Consumer Reports judgments and then see if it fits your own needs and observations. That's difficult too. I guess the bottom line is, are you satisfied with using this product? In the case of Kirkland Signature Detergent, the answer is yes. Completely. Would you ever go back to Tide? Sure, but it costs a lot more and I have no reason to believe it will perform any better. So, what does one do? Me? I buy the Kirkland Signature Detergent. Why would I join a warehouse store if I didn't take advantage of their products and prices?

Perwoll Balsam Magic Laundry Soap for Fine Fabrics Review

I have a new Miele washing machine. I have always used Woolite for fabrics that can't be washer in enzyme detergents(ie: wool, silk.) The Miele front loader that I have now requires HE type detergents. Woolite, (no enzymes) even in small amounts, creates way too much sudsing. Perwoll is not only a low sudsing HE type detergent, but I also noticed it cleans better than Woolite did in my old top loader.

The scent is pleasant. Sort of cherry-strawberry like. However, I would prefer it smelled like Persil, which I like very much.

In the US and Canada, Perwoll comes in a 750 ml bottle. A full size laundry load requires 90ml. That's comes out to less than 8 washes per bottle. I wish Henkel would also offer it in the larger 1.5L and 4 liter bottles sold in Europe so I wouldn't have to buy more, so often.

I was very hesitant to order this at first, but I'm so glad I did! I love this detergent.

I only need to use a heaping tablespoon of powder in my HE washing machine and my clothes come out fresh and clean. With 5 daughters we have no short supply of laundry, especially since the three youngest ones sometimes go through two or three outfits in one day. I run at least two loads of laundry every day and one box of Persil lasts six months to a year, compared with a similar sized box of Tide that only lasts 8 weeks if I'm lucky.

ProWash Activewear Detergent 24 fl oz (710 ml) Review

I personally think detergent preferences are like soap/shampoo/perfume/lotion preferences ... everyone's taste is a little different.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with this detergent ... it does what it says ... cleans and removes odors. I, however, generally use Tide or Cheer, and like that type of fragrance in my detergent. This detergent had a non-descript smell ... more of a wanna-be unscented. I've smelled this "scent" before, but I can't place it right now. (If I think of it, I will edit this review to add to it.) It's not bad, it just has no real smell. It did effectively clean a load of dirty, stinky towels. I would have probably had to run these towels through a second cycle with my usual detergent ... so that was a plus!

As for the container ... I usually buy the HUGE club size detergent, so this was quite a contrast. I have a tendency to be a a little clumsy. In that respect, this container is VERY unforgiving. The little cap that closes the container is TINY ... easy to drop in a small place and very easy to lose. Once the cap it lost, you would have to put the detergent in another container. In addition, when dispensing/pouring out the detergent ... if you pour too much, you are out of luck. You can't just pour it back in the container. It's probaby just an adjustment issue on my part (HUGE container to small container), but worth mentioning.

Given the cost of this detergent and the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the scent, I would probably only use this on really stinky clothing/towels, and as an occasional "booster" with my usual detergent. Again, nothing wrong with this detergent ... just more of a personal preference issue.

Charlie's Soap All-Purpose Cleaner Review

I have tried so many eco-green cleaners and really have only liked Mrs. Meyers, Ecover and (gasp) Clorox Green products. This product claims to clean anything from false teeth to diesel engines and it's probably true! As for its scent and harshness, the scent is a very light, quickly dissipating fragrance which reminds me of Fantastic. As for harshness, I did not wear gloves but probably should have ONLY because some of the greasy stuff went under a couple of fingernails. After normal washing and rinsing of my hands, I did not notice any dryness or irritation. I haven't tried this product on windows, so I can't comment on that, but this spray is EXCELLENT for cleaning an outdoor grill, indoor oven and baked on foodstuff inside my stainless convection microwave oven. On my misnomer self-cleaning oven, I sprayed, waited, wiped and sprayed again until it was like brand new w/ minimal use of elbow grease. AMAZING. I will be giving Simple Green and several other heavy duty cleaners away to neighbors as this IS definitely the ONLY general spray cleaner I will need to use. I also have ordered one gallon of their liquid laundry soap. It is so refreshing to find a product that is environmentally safe, made in USA (NC), and actually cleans as claimed. I hope they expand their product line in the future.

I bought it because I want to kill bacterial for clothes, and the picture displays that it can kill 99.9% bacteria. However, the product I received does not have such labels. Instead, they say, 'color safe', which is not my main concern. So perhaps I can only use it as normal detergent.
