For the review that complained that she did a load a few days later w/ the same nuts there is a reason they smelled. You are suppose to do the loads all in one day and then compost the soapnuts. Here is the equation:
"For a cold water wash, use 3-5 shells and re-use up to four times in the same day. For a warm water wash, use 2-3 shells and re-use up to two times in the same day.
The shells are same-day reuseable -- once the shells have been moistened, they begin to naturally break down. If the moist shells are kept for use on a subsequent day, you may find that they have become moldy. Discard the shells in your garden mulch pile."
