Like many people, I'm trying my best to reduce environmental impact and live healthier.I've been using dryer balls for some time now and love them.I thought I'd try these laundry nuggets (mainly because I'm bad at measuring and feel like I go through liquid detergent much faster than it says I should)... Well, they're fantastic!They work in hot and cold water, great for everything from towels to delicates and, between these and the laundry balls, my basement no longer smells like a laundromat!I did one load with my old detergent the other day and couldn't believe how strong the odor was!On top of it all, my clothes are still soft and fresh!The only warning is that you have to let the nugget dissolve before putting in your clothes (but that only takes about 7-10 seconds at any temp) otherwise it doesn't disintegrate.So, if you're looking for something that is health and environmentally conscious, try these!

We love the All Small & Mighty laundry detergent, but ordering from Amazon just didn't work out. The bottles broke in transit because of insufficient packaging (and probably some rough handling, no doubt). My wife happened to be outside when the package arrived; the delivery man didn't even make it all the way to our front door before he realized that the box was dripping detergent all over the place. Back on the truck it went, and Amazon refunded our money. Great customer service (we didn't even have to report the problem ourselves) but unfortunately, we've consistently had bad luck ordering liquids from Amazon.

Method HE free and clear is not completely fragrance free, you can still detect an odor if you put it right under your nose, but you don't notice it in regular use and your clothes do not come out smelling perfumed. I used to use Tide unscented but it still had too much of a fragrance for me. Method is much better.

Method is very very concentrated so a64oz bottle will wash 64 regular loads. The detergent does an excellent job on all types of clothing and in all water temperatures and rinses out completely (provided you don't put too much detergent in your wash).

If you are sensitive to perfumes you should be alright with this detergent.

Green Wash Ball Laundry Ball, Wash without Detergent Review

I have a theory -- "If you want something done efficiently, assign it to a lazy programmer."It's kind of a motto or a way of life or something I live by.Basically, I was to do everything with as little effort as possible and I will actually put a lot of energy up front to guaranteeing that very little energy has to be spent in the end.

As an environmentalist, I make my own cleaning supplies to avoid adding toxins into my environment and the world in general.However, the lazy programmer was tiring of the effort of shredding the soap to make the laundry detergent and I wanted a simpler solution.

I have to admit, the Green Wash Laundry Ball seemed too good to be true. In my mind, I could not believe that stains would be removed, odors would disappear, or the clothes would resemble anything clean, but...the lazy programmer had to test the theory.

I have to admit that I'm pretty impressed.It does really well with odors -- it removed an unpleasant pet smell from a pet blanket and it does well with light stains.I found I had to do some stain treatment and add a bleach substitute to help remove more difficult stains (red fruit or dark red dressing).

Otherwise, I'm very pleased.It's going to save me a lot of money, energy and time not having to make laundry detergent.

I've used this product for a couple years now and love it.When used properly in my HE washing machine, it does a great job and leaves a light scent.As with most cleaning products, I only use about half of the recommended amount, so for a full load I only use half a cap.If you have kids or get really dirty at work or in the yard you may need to use slightly more, but in that case I usually just switch to warm water and everything seems to come out clean.A few points I'd like to make, with respect to some of the other reviews:

(1) If you use only half the recommended amount, in combination with an unscented fabric softener, you don't get the overpowering scent left behind.Mrs. Meyers knows she uses powerful scents, and even mentions that on her website.But you can use half a cap for a full load and not only get your clothes clean, but reduce the perfumey smell.And besides, have you ever smelled Tide's Fresh Mountain Bubbling Brook (or whatever it's called)?I've never smelled ANYTHING near, on, or around a mountain that smells like that!

(2)Mrs. Meyers does not claim to be ALL natural and she is not employing deceptive labeling.Her products are MOSTLY natural, and on her website she discloses everything.As other mainstream detergents are changing their composition, I don't know that Mrs. Meyers is any more natural than Tide, but she definitely states clearly on her website that a minimal amount of non-natural ingredients are used, and fragrance happens to be one of them.

In general, of all the more natural products I've used, I keep coming back to Mrs. Meyers.They do the best job, are reasonably affordable, and there are a variety of scents to choose from.

I received these as a free sample and played it safe and used them both on loads of dark colored bed sheets.The smell is great and lasts but there are several spots on the sheets that look like oily stains and the smell is much more concentrated there than on other parts of the sheets.I did two separate loads just to compare and there were spots on both. I like the convenience and smell but won't use these on clothes and likely just on towels which does not make it worth my money since I use lower cost liquid detergent for those in the first place.

This product, Tide HE 2x Concentrated Liquid Detergent with Bleach Alternative, Original Scent, is one of the best detergents on the market.

Yes, it is more expensive than other brands, but you can't beat it for getting out stains.If you have spot stains, just pour a little directly on the stain and throw it in the washer.

An alternate (at a lower cost) that works pretty well is GAIN HE, and can be found at Amazon:

Now, about those other ratings.Why would you rate a product one star (and make others think it is an inferior product) if you made the mistake of ordering the wrong product?

As pointed out by a previous reviewer, the HE (high efficiency) detergent formulas are always more expensive than other detergents.HE is designed for washers that load in the front and that use VERY little water--and guess what(?!)--you need a detergent that has a totally different formulation than that for standard, water-guzzling washers.In other words, it won't work in your regular washer.

I do recommend that if you can, when it comes time to replace your old washer that you try an HE front loader.Your clothes will never be cleaner and you will be saving water--great for your water bill, and the environment!

Tide with a Touch of Downy Powder Detergent, April Fresh Scent, Case Pack, Two 95-Load Boxes ( 190-Loads) Review

I sometimes use Tide powder detergent with an "April fresh" scent and Downy softener in it when I can't get my hands on the liquid form of this laundry soap. Tide is far and away superior to the other powder laundry detergents out there. It makes the most soap suds with the least amount of powder added to your wash. I also like the fact that there is some Downy fabric softener in powdered form mixed in with this powdered detergent.

I recommend buying Tide in this size because it is noticeably cheaper by the ounce. It does a great job with anything that can be washed in your clothes washing machine! The "April fresh" scent is pleasant and it will not overpower you. It also dissolves rather quickly so that your clothing is truly residue-free after the wash cycle ends.

A few notes: A full container could be rather heavy so you may not be able to carry a full container too far. Consider this if you have to travel with this heavy box and your dirty laundry to a laundromat. If the full box is too heavy put some of the powder in a plastic bag and carry your powder laundry detergent to the laundromat that way. In addition, this form of Tide does have a scent. If you are allergic to any scents or perfumes try an unscented version of Tide instead.

If you have a clothes washer and dryer machine at home stock up when you get a good value on this!

Overall, Tide is by far the best powdered laundry detergent; and if you can carry this heavy full container or some powder in a bag to the laundromat it is also the best value for your money. This is really important as laundromats and water bills seem to going UP these days! Tide makes a great laundry detergent. Don't waste your money on other detergents that just don't work as effectively.

I hope they expand this scent into a dish soap, etc. I did have the leaking in my box as some of the other reviewers but I didn't mind. It didn't seem that there was any bottle missing product. Just think they need to tape the caps and make sure they are securely tightened. I will not buy anything else, this is the best I've every used and the best scent for laundry detergent I've every found!! I have a front loader HE, when compared with I normally use I am getting a true bargain.

Due to my daughter being born with very sensitive, eczema-prone skin, I spent a lot of time over the past year looking for and testing gentler products and cleaners. At the same time, my family was attempting to become just a little more "green" -- in large part to keep her immediate environment safe.

It was about that time I came across a story on Washington Post where they tested of all the major (and a few minor) earth-friendly detergents. This one rated tops, so I decided to give it a try. Low and behold, the stuff actually works (unlike the 7th Generation products I tested earlier). Not only did switching to this detergent make a huge difference in the number and severity of her flare ups, it actually CLEANED her perpetually pea-stained clothes (all while being gentle on the environment). Just as promising, I found that a little goes a long way, making the price difference from a standard Tide or equivalent detergent something I could swallow.

Ever since a severe rash sent me to a dermatologist decades ago, I've been using Tide detergent. Liquid detergents, he said, are dangerous to your skin. They contain all kinds of irritants not included in an old-fashioned box of Tide.

Based on that advice, for upwards of 20 years I've avoided skin rashes from the nasty chemicals in liquid soap detergents.

I'm especially pleased with Amazon's subscription offering for Tide, too. Buying this way is so much less expensive than buying in a store, not to mention avoiding the schlepping (carrying heavy loads).

For context: I have a HE front-loader.

There's a couple of obvious groups where this is a no-brainer.People who live in apartments or otherwise have to carry detergent.People who like to have some when they travel.People who are disabled or otherwise have trouble manipulating a big heavy container or measuring.

For me, for daily use, most of that doesn't apply.But it's still nice when you're in a rush just to chuck in one of these and throw in the clothes and hit start and run back to the baby before she explodes.And it does work really well - one pouch always does the job, even though the package recommends two for larger loads.Maybe that's a HE thing, maybe that's because I pre-treat anything really nasty (i.e. dump on some conventional cleaner and vaugely rub it and chuck it in.I suspect I should be doing a better job of that but it works OK).

I've used both the scented and unscented.My preference is for the scent/dye free versions but they both clean the same.

I purchased this product under the Subscribe and Save option. The delivery was prompt. The item arrived at my door step within five days after the order had been placed. I hate to struggle with bulky items in the supermarket parking lot, especially in bad weather, and so this is the perfect solution for me! I am very happy with the value as well. I paid 10% less plus free delivery, then I would normally pay at the supermarket on sale with taxes. Bravo, Amazon!

Regarding the product itself: I used to be a Tide person, until its strong perfumed odor became too much. I then switched to Dreft, but the price was rather high. ALL offered a great combination of price and quality: the smell was pleasant, yet suddle; the detergent worked well on both my whites as well as my colors. I have been using it for the entire household for a couple of years now and do not see myself switching to anything else any time soon.

Regarding the large bottle: I was initially affraid that the 64-load bottle would be bothersome to handle. Not so! It is easy to maneuver and not bulky at all! The detergent is trully concentrated and a little goes a long way... Hope it works for you, too!

Method Laundry Detergent Peony Blossom- 50 Loads, 20 Ounce Bottle Review

I've done 3 loads of laundry so far with this detergent. I'm very impressed! I removed food stains with it, noticed my whites were very bright and it has a nice but not at all overwhelming light scent. The best part is the ease of use. The bottle is only slightly bigger than a bottle of dish detergent. The pump makes it easy with my HE washer. I just pump 4 times into the detergent dispenser and start the machine. This tiny bottle does 50 loads. I usually use Tide HE, but I thought I would try this because I get tired of the heavy bottles and the dripping when using the cap to measure. The only reason I didn't give this detergent 5 stars is the price. $15 is a little steep considering I can get most HE detergents for $10 or less at Wal-Mart, but I think I'll stick with this.

I really love this detergent. Our dermatologist recommends it over any other "free and clear" brand, because it doesn't leave a residue of any kind on your clothes. Other brands (7th generation, etc.) contain ingredients that remain on your clothing and don't rinse completely clean. That makes others a poor choice for washing cloth diapers, especially. This stuff really is the best! Subscribe and save is a great deal, but keep an eye out at the drug store, too -- because it doesn't have any fragrance, it tends to get looked over at places like CVS... I've gotten it 1/2 price there - I bought 8 bottles at once, and the guy at the counter was like, "You know it doesn't have any smell, right?" I told him it was what I always used and that was WHY I used it! :)

I am completely Happy about buying this Tide Fragrance Free from Amazon.com. The FREE shipping was a Plus and I used a gift card to purchase my products. Method Laundry Detergent Free + Clear- 50 Loads, 20 Ounce Bottle Review

I've been a fan of Method's laundry soap for a while. I love the fact that it is easy on our environment, but I have to say, I also buy it because it is easy on my back. I lug my laundry up and down four flights of stairs to the basement of our apartment building. I really appreciate Method's focus on keeping the water and other fillers out of this soap.

I wasn't sure if I'd like the pump mechanism, but I do. I've done about 10 loads of laundry with this bottle and so far -- no drips and no leaks.

I do like fresh smelling laundry though. I'm going to try a scented kind of Method soap next time.

I purchased this Laundry Soap because I was looking for a Really Great Soap that was also environmentally friendly! About the same time we purchased the LG Tromm front loading washer and dryer set! Have been using these for about 6 months now. Starting because I was looking for an environmentally friendly alternative for laundry. Plus I was hoping to take them at their word, no need for fabric softeners etc. I am happy so far.

Have used them at home in my HE washing machine (HE machines require low sudsing HE type detergents). Have also taken them traveling. The laundry is clean with one pouch (it says use 2 for largest/dirtiest loads - I haven't yet and I'd say I push the load limit sometimes)

I have stopped using fabric softener and the clothes are still soft, although as we head into winter now (dryer/colder here in New England) I do notice more static cling than before. Not enough to add softener, but it is there.

I am very happy and will continue to use this product. The only caveats are that...
1 - I do take them at their word to put the Dropps packet in the washer drum first, then the clothes on top of it. (Not in the detergent cup but in the drum) I have never had a packet NOT dissolve yet - home or away)
2 - When traveling it is a good idea to put the packets you are taking in a hard sided container - like a small food storage container.

I purchased this soap locally for 12.00 for one bottle, so the price on Amazon is several dollars cheaper per bottle!I make my own soap for the warm/hot water loads, and I use this for loads using cold water.It cleans just as well as the store brand I was using (Purex) and is easier on the environment and our clothes.It does not leave a residue, although I do have softened water.When I take the clothes out of the dryer (no need for softeners, as there are soy softeners in the product), my clothes just smell clean.Nothing artificial.The soap doesn't bubble and the water doesn't get slippery, but I know it's still working because my clothes come out clean.

We have a baby and toddler both with eczema and otherwise sensitive skin. I needed a detergent that could clean all our clothes at once as I don't feel like doing kids clothes and parent's clothes separately. After a decision to switch to greener products, I bought this at my local CoOp to give it a trial run. Found it to clean all our clothes as well as any brand of conventional detergent I have used before (i.e. Tide, Kirtland's, and assorted baby detergents). Also, it rinses clean. I was happy to see it on Amazon.

I have been using the All detergent for the past two weeks before reviewing it; I purchased it based upon the other review, which indicated that stains were lifted out and not much fragrance was left in clothes.Both of these observations are true in my experience as well.I garden for a hobby, and my clothes are often very, very dirty.This product will get your clothes clean.I don't particularly want any fragrance in my clothes, so I am happy that there isn't a residual smell.I have also tried the product with cold water, and it will dissolve in cold washes.Finally, if you purchase this product when Amazon runs a coupon special (see the Sales & Special Offers section), plus get super saver shipping, the per washload cost runs around 9 cents a load, which is pretty good.

Dropps Laundry Pacs, Fresh Scent, 20-load pouch (pack of 3) Review

I live in a tiny studio apartment on the top floor of my building, so I was really excited when I got a sample of dropps in the mail from Bzz Agent to try.They're wonderful!I can fit detergent for as many loads as the regular stuff in a box about 1/4 of the size (and less than a pound!)No lugging big jugs up to my apartment and then trying to hide them under the bed- the dropps can fit right in my laundry basket!

I love that they are better for the environment, while at the same time being super handy and no mess!

The only thing I was a bit dissappointed about was the smell- I couldn't smell the fresh scent at all- so I've decided to buy the un-scented from now on and use fabric sheets to get my "fresh Scent."

Overall- I highly reccomend dropps.Great invention!

I stumbled upon Country Save Laundry Detergent when I began cloth diapering in an attempt to be more environmentally friendly.I should mention that I have two kids and a husband who is a maintenance technician at a factory so we have tons of dirty, sometimes really dirty laundry.

I like that it has no scent so it doesn't irritate anyone's sensitive skin and it smells more fresh to me that way.It suds well and cleans better than most conventional, chemical laden soaps I've used before.

I am impressed that clothing, when hung on a line to dry, does not come out stiff.I think that was one of my bigger selling points, that and it has no fragrance or extras that causes liquids to repel.This is huge for cloth diapers.

I bought one 10 pound box, and use it in my top loader.We're on the same box about two months later so I'd say it's a good buy.

I'm hooked.
