This product, Tide HE 2x Concentrated Liquid Detergent with Bleach Alternative, Original Scent, is one of the best detergents on the market.

Yes, it is more expensive than other brands, but you can't beat it for getting out stains.If you have spot stains, just pour a little directly on the stain and throw it in the washer.

Tide HE leaves behind a wonderful fresh scent, which I describe as a combination of lemon, fresh air and good old soap.

Combined with it's "sister" product, Downy Ultra, you get the freshest smelling laundry around.

Now, about those other ratings.Why would you rate a product one star (and make others think it is an inferior product) if you made the mistake of ordering the wrong product?

As pointed out by a previous reviewer, the HE (high efficiency) detergent formulas are always more expensive than other detergents.HE is designed for washers that load in the front and that use VERY little water--and guess what(?!)--you need a detergent that has a totally different formulation than that for standard, water-guzzling washers.In other words, it won't work in your regular washer.

I do recommend that if you can, when it comes time to replace your old washer that you try an HE front loader.Your clothes will never be cleaner and you will be saving water--great for your water bill, and the environment!
